Get right to work with Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Kowloon CBD2

Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Kowloon CBD2 is conveniently located at Kwun Tong with 5 minutes walk to MTR station. After exiting from the station, you would walk past Millennium City Complex and apm–one of the biggest shopping mall in East Kowloon.

Arrival & Check-In

There’s a waiting lounge where you can meet comfortably or if you are just waiting for a cab. However one must note that there wasn’t service staff to assist with luggage service as its a self-service.

Upon reaching the ground level, you may take the escalator or lift up to Level 1 where the reception is located for Check-In. For the Check-In process, I would say that it was a fuss-free one. You would be given a breakfast coupon where you are entitled to their dim sum, scrambled eggs, fried noodles, salad/yogurt bar, cheese & vegetable station including congee. As this hotel is more for business travelers and backpackers, hence Holiday Inn Express, they called it the EXPRESS START™ BREAKFAST which mainly for you to have a quick & simple meal before you start your day. I noted that service staff may be more attentive as they were busy clearing plates and fail to notice that the cutlery for dessert had run out totally.

In-Room

The room was large by Hong Kong’s standard and it was new and functioning well. You can also see that smart design was incorporated into the bathroom design where the shower area & private bathroom is separated with a door. When showering, the door can be turned inwards and leaving the bathroom exposed, however as this is targeted at business travelers, hence solo guest is often expected but it’s not family-friendly.

Depending on your room location, you get a view of the city with the harbour or the mountain view. For non-smokers, you would be glad that this hotel is smoke-free throughout. If you have forgotten your travel essentials such as shaving kits and etc, you may collect it from the hotel lobby.

Overall, given the location in the central business district, it’s fairly convenient and all staff greets you with a smile. A point to note is that the service staff such as housekeeping crew may not be able to communicate in English fluently. Else, it would be strongly recommended if you are looking for a quick and good hotel for a one night stay.
